Dental night guards – Wearing a thin mouthguard or splint while sleeping protects the teeth and reduces the damage to teeth from grinding, also helps prevent long-term jaw joint changes (TMJ changes). This can also prevent teeth from chipping/cracking or fracturing further.
TMJ injectables – Muscle relaxant injections (or therapeutic dental injections) in the jaw muscles can help relieve pain and tension particularly in people that tend to grind or clench their teeth during the day. Results vary from person to person, and the amount and frequency required depends on your individual circumstance. Most patients who go this route notice pain relief from triggered jaw muscles, and a reduction in the number of tooth grinding/clenching events and their intensity.
